The mandate of the Jewish Historical Society of Southern Alberta is to collect, record, preserve and present the history of Southern Alberta's Jews and of the communities they have built.

To this end, we maintain a library and archives. We publish a journal called Discovery, and we regularly mount photographic displays, among which have been two major exhibits, Land of Promise (1992-93) and A Joyful Harvest (2005). We have published books based on both exhibits. To view the out-of-print A Land of Promise, see below. To purchase a copy of our 2007 publication, A Joyful Harvest, at the reduced price of $50 click here.
