Jack was a member of the "Y" Boxing Club.

The Lethbridge Downtown Bound publication (July 1995)notes that Leo Singer has "been clothing men(and boys)since he opened shop on 2nd Avenue South in the dirty 30s." Beyond business,his services have included Presidency of the Lethbridge Hebrew Congregation and of B'nai B'rith (and Chairmanship of the Anti-Defamation League),the University of Lethbridge Senate -and other areas of service "too numerous to mention."(Ibid.).
