Born in Dysart,Saskatchewan,Harry lived a good part of his life in "the Hat."He was known as a farmer,rancher,industrialist, sportsman,businessman,philathropist and civic leader.He was Mayor of Medicine Hat for 20 years,during which he gained international recognition for the city through his competitive sporting challenges. Among his many awards was the Order of Canada which he received in 1982.

Louis earned his pilot's license and is pictured here at the Medicine Hat Airport.
